MARCH 16, 2025CPR/AED Class: Unity Baptist Church will be having an Adult/Child/Infant CPR/AED Class on a Saturday in May. We need to know how many people are interested before a date is selected. The training will take place in Stotts Fellowship Hall. The training will last about three hours depending on the number of participants. The American Heart Association doesn't have a specific minimal age requirement for learning CPR. Studies suggest that children as young as nine years old can learn and retain skills. We are not sure about the cost yet. There will be a sign-up sheet in the Administrative Office or please call Sister Michelle George at (313) 418-8973, if you are interested.
Pastor’s Anniversary Committee: There will be a meeting for the Pastor’s Anniversary Committee on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. in the Chapel. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Committee Chair Regina McCullough at (313) 515-4032 or Co-Chair Lorraine Richmond at (313) 912-8006. Project Upgrade: The Trustee Board will be hosting a soft opening kickoff fundraiser today - Phase I Restroom Remodel. The menu: Catfish, Wings (Fried or Baked) Spaghetti (turkey or beef), Broasted Potatoes, Coleslaw, Salad, Bread (wheat or white) and Homemade Desserts. The lunch/dinner price is $13.00 (one meat and two sides) and homemade desserts are $4.00. Upcoming kitchen dates are: April 6th, May 4th and June 1st. It is your choice to either dine in or take out. Pre-orders will be taken before worship service today in Stotts Fellowship Hall. Thank you in advance for your support in this endeavor. Sisterhood Meeting: The Sisterhood meeting is tomorrow at 5:30 p.m. in the Chapel. Event Request Form: The Event Request Form has been revised to include a Funding Request page that shall be sent directly to the Trustees email: [email protected] or placed in a sealed envelope in the Trustees mail slot in the Security Room (envelopes will be provided). The newly revised forms will be available in the Administrative Office, Secretary’s Office, Trustees’ Office and on the table outside of the Secretary’s Office. Unity in the Community: Save the date! Unity in the Community will be on Saturday, August 16, 2025. In preparation for this great event, we need willing and active volunteers. If you are interested in being on the committee, there will be a sign-up sheet in the Administrative Office after service. Everyone is welcomed, former and new committee members. New Ministry: Attention all youth and young adults between the ages of 13-18. Unity Baptist Church is extending an invitation to you to become a member of a new ministry that will be known as the Young Adult Nurses Guild. We are excited to extend this ministry to our youth and young adults and will provide mentoring and guidance for anyone who wants to serve on 5th Sundays. If you are interested in becoming a part of this new ministry, please see Sister Tonya Malone or Sister Janika Muckles. Unity Bible Institute (U.B.I.): U.B.I. classes have begun and will continue through the week of May 5, 2025. Join one or more classes for a $5.00 registration fee.
