Attention Unity Members: The Souvenir Book Committee is extending the timeframe through the end of August for members to take their photos for the member section of the souvenir book. There has also been a reduction in the cost. You only have to pay a one-time fee of $25 per sitting! You can have up to 10 individuals per sitting! Appointments are available for the first week as follows: Wednesday, August 5th and Thursday, August 6th from 3:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, August 9th from 11:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Subsequent scheduling for appointments will be placed in the bulletin each week. To schedule your appointment, please call the church office and leave your full name, telephone number and the reason for your call and you will receive a call back to schedule your appointment by either Sister Sheila Robinson or Mrs. Janice Berman. Brotherhood Meeting: There will be an urgent Brotherhood meeting on Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will include changes in our agenda going forward. This is an urgent meeting so please be on time. Paul Bowen, Brotherhood President 100th Anniversary Picnic: On Sunday, August 9, 2026, Unity Baptist Church service and picnic will be held at William G. Milliken State Park, 1900 Atwater St., Detroit, MI. Morning worship service begin at 11:00 a.m. and the picnic will be held immediately following. There will be food, fun, games and music. If you have questions, please contact Genevieve Douglas, Picnic Chairperson. Unity in the Community: Our annual Unity in the Community event will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This will be a fun-filled event for youth before returning to school. Our main attraction will be a show put on by Young Fresh and Friends Clowns. All youth are encouraged to participate. Register sooner than later by scanning the QR code on the flyers available in the Administrative Office. Mackinac Island: The Pastor’s Aide is sponsoring a trip to Mackinac Island from Thursday, August 27th through Saturday, August 29th (three days and two nights). The total price is $475.00 per person. The trip includes: two nights at the Baymont hotel with continental breakfast; travel by Deluxe motorcoach; Shepler’s Ferry to and from the island; entrance fee; tour; and lunch at the Grand Hotel. Senior Day Services is now accepting applications for older adults seeking a safe, caring, and engaging daytime program. We offer social and recreational activities, nutritious meals, health monitoring, assistance with daily living needs, and caregiver support; all in a warm, welcoming environment where seniors are treated with dignity and respect. Please submit a one-page written or typed information page and submit a picture of your family or a family member's contribution. We are also collecting the complete history of each church ministry. This is not for the Souvenir Book. This is for the historical records of the church to be stored in our archives. There is no cost to submit the information. Join us for an unforgettable evening of fellowship, fine dining, music and celebration as we honor a century of faith, service and community impact. Tickets: $100 Adults/$50 Children under 12.
